Plot changes in "Miracle on 34th Street" via Overlawyered: In the old Natalie Wood version, Susan - the child who didn't believe in Santa Claus - is persuaded Kris really is Santa and sits down to write him a letter. This catches the eye of the guy at the post office, who decides to forward all the other Santa letters to Kris at the sanitarium. A child's simple act of faith changes the outcome of the trial. In the modern version, it's the lawyer who gets the bright idea to reroute the mail. Hmm. . . childlike faith or mail fraud? I think I like the old version better.
