Sounds like the train service proposal could be less viable than I'd hoped.  This article in today's Daily Iowan indicates that it will be simply a slow-moving service - and they're going to have $15 mill in total to build it despite the tracks already being in place.  I'd consider using alternate/mass transportation, but only if it's convenient, and I'd hoped that they'd look at a commuter service during the proper hours, but it appears as though that isn't the case.  
UPDATE:  Cedar Pundit has a great idea on this one:  have a test run and see who shows.  More scientific than out-of-town consultants who apparently guesstimate the area's tourism capabilities at 4100 per day.
