OMG - Too Funny

Me: I am hoping to land a job with as a public defender once I am done with my clerkship.

Stink-boy-with-pointless-and-stupid-piercings: That's cool. I really liked all of my public defenders. So can I get your number?

Once when I was prosecuting I had a guy I'd sent up for his fourth OWI (only charged as second because of the age of the priors) ask a friend if she thought I'd go out with him. We were in the same bar at the time. I left. Fast.

Did he offer to drive you home?

Back when I practiced, I had a client who got picked up for a bunch of charges basically stemming from her screwing her boyfriend in her car. (Public intox, indecency, I think an interference with official acts.) She had no priors, a good employment and school background, and I was able to get her a deferred judgment. Once the case was over, she kept calling me for very trivial things - "Will I get in trouble if I do this?" type of questions. At first that didn't seem too unusual. A lot of people who got deferreds did it. But she kept up for a few months, and eventually it went from not unusual client behavior to annoying to "What is really going on here?". Finally she flat out asked if I wanted to go out on a date with her. I politely said no, that it wouldn't really be appropriate, and the matter ended.
