OK, all sarcasm aside, I can't even imagine what Ashcroft was thinking when he wrote this -- and good luck blaming a speechwriter when it's handwritten. Does Ashcroft really think that all Americans are secure from crime and terror now? I can't read that statement to say anything else, but that's just patently insipid."
