After the Ball is Over. . .

I didn't get to vote, being stuck in Glenn Ellyn, Illinois, on election day. But I can't resist noting that the Guardian's spam campaign didn't overwhelmingly turn the tide for Kerry:

Clark

Bush, George W. Republican 34,444 50.96%

Kerry, John F. Democratic 32,824 48.56%

Badnarik, Michael 183 0.27%

Peroutka, Michael Anthony 144 0.21%

Cobb, David Keith-WI 0 0.00%

Schriner, Joe -WI 0 0.00%

Duncan, Richard A.-WI 0 0.00%

Parker, John T.-WI 0 0.00%

Harris, James -WI 0 0.00%

Zych, Thomas F.-WI 0 0.00%

Precincts Reporting: 100.00% 67,595

Okay, so the people have spoken, for better or for worse. But given the closeness of the numbers, I'd like to suggest it's time for both sides to realize that not everyone who voted for the opposition is a flying moonbat sporting a tinfoil hat with little eyeball antennas. While the right and left extremists trade conspiracy theories, why don't moderates find some common ground, band together, and regain some of the clout abandoned to the nether regions of the respective parties? Just a thought.
